IPs receive livestock from SAAD Bukidnon

BUKIDNON, May 28, 2020 – The Lorega Ancestral Management and Development for All Generation (LAMDAG), with 50 indigenous People (IP) members, received various livestock worth Php 346,000 from the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

LAMDAG is composed of Matigsalug and Manobo IPs from Barangay Lorega, Kitaotao. The interventions given are under the Integrated Agricultural Livelihood Project of SAAD FY 2019.

The livestock distributed to the IPs are 10 head of goats and 10 head of carabao for their communal farm, which is mostly planted with corn.

The carabaos will serve as draft animals in their farm production activities, while the goats will be first multiplied and sold when they meet its requirement.

Facilitating the turnover were Romeo D. Limbaga, the OIC-Municipal Agriculture Officer; Dr. Janet D. Lopez, the veterinarian in-charge of DA Northern Mindanao; and Ralph Christian Sabud, the SAAD Area Coordinator in Bukidnon. ###
