Compostela Valley — The Department of Agriculture (DA) Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program – Compostela Valley Team distributed 124 goats to 62 farmer-partners at barangay Awao of Monkayo and Barangay Camansi of Montevista on May 24, 2019.
Brgy. Awao has been a SAAD beneficiary of native chicken and crop production project which includes OPV white corn seeds packaged with fertilizers, upland rice seeds packaged with fertilizers, and 8-in-1 vegetable seeds with about 380 recipients. Also was Brgy. Camansi with 100 recipients of the crops production project.
SAAD Regional Focal Person for DA-Regional Field Office (RFO) XI, Mr. Jovelle Fuertes, and SAAD Provincial Coordinator, Mr. Jose Andamon, facilitated the distribution. Other staff from SAAD and Local
Government Units of the mentioned barangays were also there to assist and provide valuable inputs.
At the end of the distribution, the recipients of the project went home with smiles on their faces and have committed to produce more of what has entrusted and given to them – all for livelihood to address the poverty situation in the area. ###
