NORTH COTABATO — A total of 51 heads of cattle was distributed by the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) – Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program to various farmers’ associations from 3 barangays in Pikit, North Cotabato on July 26, 2018.
The dispersal was facilitated by the Provincial Local Government Unit of North Cotabato in cooperation with the representatives from SAAD Provincial Program Support (PPMSO)-North Cotabato and members of recipient farmers’ associations.
The Backyard Cattle Fattening Project with a total worth of P 1.43 million was funded using the FY 2016 fund. The project will be managed by 3 farmers’ associations namely, Lagundi Irrigators Association, Pamalian Farmer Association, and Langayen Farmer Association. It is expected to augment the household income of poor members of the association and to boost the local economy.
The activity also gave the farmer-partners the opportunity to express their warm appreciation to the Duterte administration, particularly to DA Sec. Emmanuel Piñol and DA-Region 12 Executive Director Engr. Milagros Casis for their continuous support through SAAD interventions. ###
