TACLOBAN CITY, August 23, 2021 – The Department of Agriculture (DA) – Special Area for Agricultural Development Program (SAAD) in Region 8 delivered Php 8 million worth of Layer Chicken Egg Production Project interventions to seven groups in Leyte and Southern Leyte.
Each association received 960 ready–to–lay chickens with feeds worth Php 1,161,050 from August 2 to 17.
The five group beneficiaries in Leyte were Abango Small Coconut Farmers Association (23 members) and Bulod Agriculture Cooperative (33) from Barugo; St. Isidore Greenfield Community Association (27) in Sta. Fe; San Antonio Rural Improvement Club Association (32) from Dulag; and Matin–ao Farmers Association (22) from Burauen.
On the other hand, the recipients in Southern Leyte were Mapgap Farmers Association (24) from Tomas Oppus and Cantamuac Farmers Association (17) from Malitbog.
The 115 bags of feeds delivered are good for two months. Two other batches of 115 sacks of feeds will be delivered for each association before the start of the second and fourth months to complete the 6-month supply provided for the project. ###
