QUEZON CITY, August 30, 2021 – The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) planned its last year of implementation, 2022.
The SAAD national and regional staff met physically and virtually in an event conducted from August 23 to 27 in Lubao, Pampanga.
During the event, the 11 SAAD operating units crafted financial, physical, and monthly disbursement targets.
Meanwhile, the national office headed by Deputy Director Ulysses J. Lustria Jr. and assisted by the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PME) team reviewed the proposals for further improvement.
Since SAAD aims to turn beneficiaries into agripreneurs, the PME team also advised all operating units to include targets for the establishment of community-based enterprises.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) requires the submission of the Budget Execution Documents (BED) No. 1, 2, and 3 as further basis on the endorsement for approval and releasing of General Appropriations Act (GAA) funds.
The accomplished BED forms shall facilitate the prompt implementation of the program by the timely release of funds and conduct of early procurement activities.
The forms shall be submitted to DBM before the start of the House Committee hearings for the deliberation of FY 2022 DA proposals. ###
