The said project was generated from the FY 2020 budget to improve farmers income and give emphasis in the mandate of President Rodrigo R. Duterte to produce food for every Filipino family amid the health crisis.
A farmer received 18 kg of hybrid corn seeds, two bags of 50-kg urea, two bags of 50-kg complete fertilizers, and four packs of assorted vegetable seeds. An estimated 60 hectares will be planted for corn, and an accumulated 120 hectares for vegetable.
SAAD Project Development Officer Anisa Allyn Saduddin facilitated the distribution in coordination with Municipal Agriculturist Dr. Wilfredo V. Juloya Jr., and Matalam Local Government Unit (LGU), represented by Municipal Councilor Committee Chairman on Agriculture Dexter Dinsay.
“We are lucky and blessed to receive such intervention from DA-SAAD. I am asking for your full support in the program given to us to sustain and hopefully share our blessings to others as well. Mao lang ni ang saad na gatupa (this is the only promise fulfilled)’’, Dinsay said.
