BFAR SAAD holds FY 2019 3rd Quarter Review and Assessment

The Special Area for Agriculture Development (SAAD) Program of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) held its FY 2019 3rd Quarter Review and Assessment from 12 to 15 of November 2019 at Alta Cebu, Tugbungan Cordova, Cebu City. 

The event was attended by selected officials and focal persons from the DA and BFAR SAAD central offices and BFAR-SAAD implementing regions (CAR, IV-B, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, and XIII), as well as representatives from the budget office of BFAR.

During the event, SAAD Program Director Myer Mula reiterated Agriculture Secretary William Dar’s New Thinking, the “Masaganang Ani, Mataas na Kita”. He said that to achieve our goals in the community, DA SAAD and BFAR SAAD need to be united with a common policy and management, together with other bureaus, to become more effective.

Each region of SAAD BFAR reported the current physical and financial accomplishment and status of their implementation for FY 2019. BFAR SAAD’s overall obligation is at 85.05% while the disbursement is at 40.54%.

Specifically, the physical accomplishments of BFAR SAAD are as follows:

  •         279 social preparation activities conducted with 9,531 individual and 116 group fisherfolk beneficiaries covered;
  •         116 livelihood projects implemented with 4,707 individual and 187 group fisherfolk beneficiaries provided; and
  •         54 specialized training activities conducted with 1,910 individual fisherfolk beneficiaries trained. ###
