SAAD concludes its 3rd Quarter Assessment for the year 2019

DAVAO CITY – The Special Area for Agriculture Development (SAAD) Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) concluded its FY 2019 3rd Quarter Physical and Financial Assessment on the 18th of October 2019 in Davao City.

The SAAD regional top performers are DA Cordillera Administrative Region with 61.03% financial performance, Region 8 with 60.72%, and Region 5 with 60.63%.

Meanwhile, the overall obligation of the SAAD Program is 74.77%, which is equivalent to Php 799,974 million.

Present at the event is DA Assistant Secretary for Special Projects Lerey Panes, who reminded SAAD leaders to implement agri-livelihood projects that provide high profit for the farmers and have access to markets for the remaining years.

This is in line with the new Agriculture chief William Dar’s mission, “Masaganang Ani, Mataas na Kita”.

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) also presented their physical and financial accomplishments.

BFAR-SAAD obligated 77.73% of its fund, which is equivalent to Php 289,932 million.

The event also tackled important issues relative to the procurement process of the SAAD Regional Program Management Support Offices (RPMSOs).

The SAAD National Program Management Office (NPMO) will provide recommendations and solutions to the issues as the 4th Quarter of this year targets 100% budget obligation.
