Cotabato farmers taught goat production by DA-SAAD

KIDAPAWAN CITY, NORTH COTABATO – The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) held a goat production training last September 12, 2019.

The associations involved were, namely: Sr. San Vicente Ferrer Farmers’ Association, Pres. Roxas Vendors and Agricultural Workers Association, and Brgy. Del Carmen Pres. Roxas North Cotabato Sustainable Bio-dynamic Herbal Producer Cooperative. Topics include goat breeding, diseases prone to goats, treatment, housing, and nutrition.

The training, which was held at Balindog Research and Experimentation Station (BRES), was led by resource speaker Arthur J. Jimena.

Magpet Area Coordinator Anisa Allyn Saaduddin gave an overview on what the SAAD Program is and how will it help lift them from poverty.

Also in the training was Provincial Coordinator Jerry W. Tingson who gave a message to the farmer-partners to take good care of their new goats to help augment their income. Charie Lyn J. Quinlat, Area Coordinator of President Manuel A. Roxas, also helped facilitate the training.

The farmer-partners of the SAAD Program in Cotabato expressed gratitude for the assistance of the SAAD Program.###
