SAAD held 3 training activities for ZaNorte women farmers

MUTIA, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE – The Department of Agriculture (DA) through the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program conducted a two-day technical training on Indigenous Micro-Organism, Lactic Acid Bacteria Serum, and Carbonized Rice Hull from 20-26 of February 2019 at the Municipal Gymnasium.

The activity was conducted in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Mutia through its Municipal Agriculturist Office. It aims to enhance the skills and technical know-how of the SAAD farmer-partners in the locality.

The participants are six (6) women associations from the municipalities of Newland, Diland, Buenasuerte, New Siquijor, Poblacion, and Sto. Tomas. Each association had ten (10) participants for the activity.

The resource speaker of the training was Dante Adrias, a former Agricutural Training Institute (ATI) scholar who also serves as an instructor in Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Dipolog and a humble farmer.

Aside from the participants, the training was also attended by the Mayor Arthur Tenorio and the Municipal Agricultural Officer Crisologo Abello. ###
