LABASON, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE – The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) gave farm inputs for an 80-hectare corn production area in the municipality. The agricultural support was turned over on 14-16 of March 2019 at the Municipal Gymnasium.
104 farmers of Gabu and Lawigan Farmers’ Associations received 80 bags of OPV corn seeds, 80 bags of urea, and 320 bags of complete fertilizers.
SAAD Region IX conducted a short program with the help of Municipal Mayor Eddie Quimbo, Municipal Agriculturist Nena Fortich, and Corn Technician Junelyn Bandico.
The associations’ presidents also took the opportunity to thank DA for giving them the opportunity to go back to farming.
The province is one of the 30 covered provinces of the SAAD Program. ###
