LUNA, APAYAO—The Department of Agriculture (DA) – Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) awards rice combine harvesters to farmers at the Apayao Provincial Capitol in Luna, Apayao on March 7, 2018.

DA SAAD – Apayao awarded a unit of rice combine harvester to the Midstream Livelihood Farmers Association (FA), as represented by its Vice President, Mr. Benedict Gorospe. Farming will be made easier for the hundred and sixty (160) beneficiaries from the Midstream Livelihood FA, as the assistance can do six (6) operation varieties such as gathering, transporting, reaping, threshing, cleaning, and bagging all in just one machine.

Apayao LGU Senior Agriculturist, Mr. Rey Vicerra conducted the ceremony with the help of Luna Area Coordinator (AC), Ms. Ruby Ann Batara Vicerra.

SAAD was launched in Apayao in 2016, aiming to alleviate poverty through the provision of livelihood programs.
