March 20, 2018

NEGROS ORIENTAL, PHILIPPINES—The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program interventions were assessed by the Special Projects Coordination and Management Assistance Division (SPCMAD) in the Province of Negros Oriental on March 13 – 15, 2018.

The SPCMAD covered Brgy. Mayabon (Zamboanguita), Brgys. 4, Datag, and Canaway (Siaton) on their first day; Brgys. Bal-os and Bongalonan (Basay), and Brgy. Caranoche (Sta. Catalina) on their next day; and Brgys. Tambulan and Jilabangan (Tayasan) on the third.

Assisted by the staff of SAAD Negros Oriental and the Local Government Unit (LGU) support staff, the SPCMAD personnel interviewed selected beneficiaries (including Farmers’ Association Presidents) who received the interventions.

Negros Oriental is one of the first ten (10) provinces covered by the SAAD Program in 2017 to alleviate poverty through the provision of livelihood programs.
