DA-SAAD hold seminars on livestock dispersal in Negros Oriental

NEGROS ORIENTAL, PHILIPPINES—The Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) held seminars on proper livestock handling in Poblacion San Jose, and Amlan in Negros Oriental on January 9 and 10, 2018.

The back-to-back activity was attended by the SAAD Negros Oriental Staff together with Area Coordinator (AC) Ms. Marcelina U. Cabonelas, Information Technologists (IT) Mr. Francis Ray Ozoa and Mr. Karl Cabonelas, SAAD-Admin Ms. Angelique Babaran; Asst. APCO Mr. Virgilio Awayan, and Agriculturist II Mr. Jose Andro Vendiola, and of course, by the SAAD-Negros Oriental beneficiaries.

San Jose Mayor Atty. Mel Nick Logronio and Sangguniang Barangay (SB) officials, together with Ms. Evangeline P. Manuel of the Municipal Agriculturist Office (MAO), were present on the first seminar leg. Amlan Vice Mayor Bentham Dela Cruz came with SB officials, together with the MAO’s Mr. Jovencio Felisilda, for the second leg.

After Mayor Logronio’s message for the beneficiaries, the resource speakers discussed ruminant management, specifically feeding and disease handling.

On the second seminar leg, Vice Mayor Dela Cruz likewise gave an inspirational message to the beneficiaries. The resource speakers discussed proper livestock handling as part of the social preparation aspect of the SAAD Program in the province of Negros Oriental.
