MANILA, PHILIPPINES – After a careful deliberation from the set panel of judges, the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) team in North Cotabato bags the “Best Logo” award in the Logo-Making Contest given on the second day of the First Quarterly Assessment on April 19, 2017, at the Department of Agriculture (DA) New Building, Elliptical Road, Diliman Quezon City.
The SAAD’s Logo-Making Contest was launched by the National Program Management Office (NPMO) on March 17, 2017, in search for the best symbol to represent the program. Participants who sent their entries include the Eastern Samar (Region VIII), Zamboanga del Norte (Region IX), and Maguindanao & North Cotabato, both with two entries. Each finalist was given enough time to present and expound their work before the panel of judges.
Each finalist was given enough time to present and expound their work before the panel of judges which include ASec Lerey Panes, SAAD’s Program Director and the representatives from SAAD’s advisory committee (Field Operation Service, Information and Communication Technology Service, Project Development Service, Planning and Monitoring Service, and Financial and Management Service).
Jerry Tingson, the Provincial Coordinator of North Cotabato Provincial Program Management Support Office (PPMSO), presented their winning entry for the competition.
According to Tingson, they have crafted an icon that represents all the interventions provided by the program as well as the primary objective of SAAD to extend a helping hand to the marginalized and unrecognized farmers and fisherfolk.
Team North Cotabato also received a certificate of recognition and three thousand pesos (P3,000) in cash. Whereas, the winning logo will undergo final modification from the NPMO and shall then serve as the official logo of the SAAD program. ###
