BOHOL, 28 January 2020 — The Department of Agriculture (DA) – Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Regional Program Management Support Office (RPMSO) 7 awarded a total of Php 7.2 million worth of cheques to four municipalities during the 20th Ubi Festival in Tagbilaran.
Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar led the turnover ceremony of cheques to Acting Governor Rene L. Relampagos, together with the four Municipal Mayors – Bien Unido Mayor Rene B. Borenaga, Buenavista Mayor Dave D. Duallo, Getafe Mayor Casey Shaun M. Camacho, and Mabini Mayor Junaito l. Jayoma.
Each municipality received Php 1.8 million cheque. The fund was sourced from SAAD’s FY 2019 budget and will support Integrated Carabao-based Production Project.
A total of 720 farmers from 24 barangays will benefit from the project. Each farmer will receive one carabao (water buffalo). Below is the list of the covered barangays.

SAAD RPMSO 7 hopes for the MLGUs to work closely with their provincial staff throughout the project implementation and monitoring to ensure success and achieve the desired change in the lives of its farmer-partners.
Bohol is one of the covered provinces of SAAD which started its implementation in 2019. Its total budget allocation was Php 17.7 million. ###
