CAMARINES SUR, May 31, 2022 – The Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program Management Office (PMO) Assessment has begun in Bicol Regional Field Office and will continue in different offices in the three SAAD covered provinces in Region 5 (Catanduanes, Masbate, Sorsogon). Said activity is part of the continuous effort to document good practices, improve, and standardize program implementation.
The study is led by the National Program Management Office (NPMO) staff, while the activity was enriched by the presence of SAAD National Deputy Director Ulysses J. Lustria Jr., Region 5 Regional Executive Director (RED) Rodel P. Tornilla, Regional Technical Director (RTD) Luz Marcelino, and SAAD Action Officer Dr. Mary Grace DP Rodriguez.
The national team received a warm welcome from RED Tornilla and the rest of the SAAD Region 5 staff. In his speech, he reminded the study participants to reflect on the current structural system and report with accuracy to extract relevant on-the-field information that is essential to the success of the program management guideline output.
The SAAD PMO assessment is a study tapping all covered provinces of the program to identify and explore the current organizational structures and workforce-related issues of each regional and provincial office.
Primarily, after data gathering from each SAAD-covered province, the national team shall produce a memorandum of the findings and recommendations after review and thorough discussion with the program executives.
Ultimately, the study initiated by the current program director, Dr. Myer G. Mula aims to produce a manual containing the standardized PMO procedures, and organizational structure. ###
