NPMO-SAAD completes RBMERA in three Samar provinces

QUEZON CITY, August 10, 2021– The National Program Management Office (NPMO) of the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) completed its Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation Rapid Appraisal (RBMERA) activity in Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar from July 26 to August 3.

RBMERA includes focused group discussions between the SAAD national staff (Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation as well as Information Technology and Database teams) and program beneficiaries.

The activity, led by PME Head Mr. Darwin Pamatmat, aims to assess the implementation and check the validity of data reported on the projects which were executed in the provinces.

In coordination with the Department of Agriculture (DA) – Regional Field Office 8 (RFO 8), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) RFO 8, and the local government units, the team visited 28 SAAD project sites for evaluation.

The result will be used to provide policy recommendations to further improve the program as it reaches its final year of implementation in 2022, pushing for its extension from 2023 to 2028.

The national office will continue the activity in the region’s two more SAAD-covered provinces, Leyte and Southern Leyte, in September. ###
