SAAD 12 continues to distribute intervention in support to Agri-4Ps

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The marginalized farmers and fishers suffered more acutely during this CoViD-19 crisis. To address their needs, the Department of Agriculture (DA) implemented nationwide the “Plant, Plant, Plant Program (Agri-4Ps)” or “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat (ALPAS) Laban sa CoViD-19”.

The Agri-4Ps is the flagship program of the DA to ensure the country’s food sufficiency, availability, accessibility, and affordability level during the health emergency situation triggered by the pandemic with the support of other programs and bureaus.

Meanwhile, the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program is one of the active programs which supports the Agri-4Ps in its 30 covered provinces.

In Region 12, SAAD funded a total of Php 814,984 worth of vegetable and livestock intervention for farmers in Sultan Kudarat and Cotabato under FY2020 allocation.

In Brgy. Makat, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat, 25 members of Makat Peace and Development Volunteers and Workers Farmers Association received 330 heads of mallard duck amounting to Php 157,496.50 on January 14, 2021.

On January 14, 2021, a total of Php 157,496.50 worth of 330 mallard ducks were distributed to 25 members of Manwitan Farmers Association from Brgy. Sibsib, Tulunan, Cotabato.

Furthermore, a total of Php 499,990.00 worth of 330 mallard ducks were also distributed to 75 Matalam Farmers Association on January 15, 2021. 

On the same day, the Central Malamote Bangsa Moro Farmer Association and Kilad-Kidama Moro Farmer Association each received 165 mallard ducks. Also, the Bangsamoro Womens SLP Farmers Organization from Brgy. Magatos, Kabacan received 340 mallard ducks. 

A total of 1,300 mallard duck amounting Php 649,984.00 have been distributed to a total of 5 farmers’ association with 170 members. 

During the distribution, SAAD Focal Person Maimona B. Amil briefed the farmers about SAAD.  “Ang DA12-SAAD Program sa pamumuno ni Regional Executive Director Arlan M. Mangelen ay patuloy na maglilingkod at magbibigay ng livelihood project para ang sa magsasaka ng Rehiyon 12, lalo na sa malalayong lugar na hindi pa naabot ng programa ng gobyerno,” she said. 

The provincial and municipal local government units supported the distribution with their presence. ###
