DIPOLOG CITY – Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Provincial Coordinator (PC) of Zamboanga del Norte (ZaNorte), Ronilo Dusaban, revealed that the program’s partnership with the Pamansalan Eco-Tech High School and farmers’ associations in Barangay Diwan would encourage the youth and farmer-beneficiaries to be in love with agriculture.
The school received one four-wheel-drive tractor, one hand tractor with implements, two units of multi-cultivator, and two brush cutters under the “Provision of Farm Machinery Project” of SAAD ZaNorte on February 7, 2020 with funding from 2018 budget appropriation of Php 1.522 M. According to SAAD ZaNorte Provincial Coordinator Mr. Dusaban, they look forward to more young men and women to be interested and be involved in agriculture.
In addition, two units of multi-cultivator, five units of incubator, four units of brooder, and 2,630 heads of native chicken was also given to 190 Diwan Farmers Association and 310 Diwan Vegetable Farmers Association members under the “Sapat na Pagkain at Pangkabuhayan” project with a total budget of Php 590,800. “We also look forward that this agriculture community of Barangay Diwan in the highlands of Dipolog City will be a major producer of farm-fresh, free-range chicken eggs and meat,” said Mr. Dusaban.
The turn-over ceremony was presided over by the City Local Government Unit (CLGU) of Dipolog led by Councilor Maynard R. Baes; officers from the Pamansalan Eco-Tech High School officials, led by the School Governance and Operations Division Chief Nur N. Hussein; Diwan Farmers Association members; Diwan Vegetable Farmer Association members; Diwan barangay officials; and 9 staff of DA SAAD Regional Program Management Support Office (RPMSO), represented by Field Operations Division Chief Reynaldo M. Campomanes. ###
