First Quarter Regional Assessment of Negros Oriental, Siquijor and Bohol by SAAD Program

CEBU CITY – The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program of the Department of Agriculture Region-VII conducted its First Quarter Regional Assessment at Bayfront Hotel on April 10 – 12, 2019.

It was facilitated by Dr. Maria Wencisa B. Egama, the Regional SAAD Focal Person. Also present were SAAD National Program Management Office (NPMO) staff: Mr. Darwin Pamatmat, Planning and Budget Team Head; and Visayas Team – Ms. Ashley Mae Apigo, Monitoring Officer, Katherine Angeles,  Planning Officer, and Jennifer Valcobero, Communications Officer.

The activity was participated by the Provincial Coordinators (PC’s) and Area Coordinators (AC’s) of the Province of Negros Oriental, Siquijor and Bohol. Each province presented its Physical and Financial Accomplishments and Status of Implementation for FY 2017 – 2019. For Bohol, they showed the status of the geotagging of their farmer-partners since they are the new province covered by SAAD for 2019.

At the end of each presentation, the participants raised their issues and concerns on the implementation of the program.  Catch-up plans to address problems were also discussed.

With the assistance of the people from the Budget, Procurement, and Accounting units, each province had set up the agreements and the next steps to be done in order to continue helping the SAAD farmer-partners of the region. ###
