SAAD transfers fund worth P 2.26 million to Municipality of Matalam

NORTH COTABATO — A total of P 2.26 million was transferred by the DA’s Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD)-Regional Field Office (RFO) XII to the municipality of Matalam, North Cotabato on July 19, 2018. The fund was sourced from the SAAD’s FY 2017 fund.

The fund will support several projects such as rice and corn production, vegetable production, and goat raising production in five barangays inMatalam. A total of 660 farmer-partners from six different farmers’ associations are expected to benefit from the said projects. These projects were proposed by the Municipal Local Government Unit of Matalam to provide additional food for poor households and to augment their income.

SAAD hopes that the LGU of Matalam will work closely with SAAD Regional and Provincial Offices throughout project implementation and monitoring to ensure its success and achieve the desired change in the lives of its farmer-partners.

Regional Executive Director Milagros C. Casis handed the check to Municipal Vice Mayor Oscar Valdevieso, together with OIC Municipal Agriculturist Elmirita J. Llagas. ###
