BALUD, MASBATE – 290 farmer-beneficiaries underwent training on upland rice and rain fed rice production on June 12-15, 2018, in Balud, Masbate conducted by the Department of Agriculture (DA) – Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program in Region V.

Four batches of training were conducted for barangays Ilaya, Panubigan, Tonga, Dao, and Palani to educate the farmers in managing new farming techniques.

Ms. Cindy Pardo, the DA Rice Program – Integrated Laboratory Division staff, discussed topics such as integrated pest management system.

SAAD Area Coordinator Engr. Edilberto Luzong, DA Rice Program staff Kim Bolivar, and SAAD Agricultural Provincial Coordinating Officer (APCO) Mr. Wilfredo Nelmida facilitated the training programs.
