NORTH COTABATO — The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) – North Cotabato conducted distribution of farm inputs worth 2.5-million pesos in the Barangay Malibatuan, municipality of Arakan, North Cotabato last June 1, 2018.
The beneficiary of the said inputs is the Malibatuan Farmers Credit Cooperative – MFCC, wherein 2,000 bags of fertilizers, 200 bags of foliar fertilizers, and 100 knapsack sprayers was formally received by Elizer Parañaque, the head of the MFCC.
The activity was led by DA-RFO 12 Regional Executive Director Engr. Milagros C. Casis. together with DA-NPMSO National SAAD Coordinator Marvin Segovia, DA- PPMSO Provincial SAAD Coordinator Jerry Tingson, SAAD North Cotabato , Municipal Agriculturist, and Municipal & Barangay officials.
Engr. Milagros C. Casis, appealed to the beneficiaries to give importance to government agricultural interventions by sustaining them for the benefit of all. She emphasized: “Since these interventions are free, we are asking you to give importance to and be responsible for them.”
Furthermore, James Dulay, Arakan’s OIC-Municipal Agriculturist, expressed that he was overwhelmed by the continuous DA assistance to poor farmers by the current administration. A few months ago, the farmers here were provided a combined harvester, mechanical drier, and farm tractor.
The farmer–beneficiaries also expressed gratitude to the SAAD and to DA Sec. Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Piñol for the all-out support to them. ###
