SAAD-ZaNorte distributes interventions through Goat Dispersal Project

ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE—The Department of Agriculture (DA) – Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) in Regional Satellite Office (RSO) IX dispersed goats to its farmer-beneficiaries in Zamboanga del Norte on April 5, 2018.

Twenty (20) SAAD farmer-beneficiaries under Dampalan Farmer’s Association (FA) received five (5) bucks, and twenty-five (25) does in Barangay Dampalan, Dapitan City while beneficiaries under La Libertad Agricultural Producers Association in La Libertad received four (4) bucks, and twenty (20) does.

The event was assisted and supported by the Local Government Unit – Municipal Agricultural Office (LGU-MAO) staff, barangay officials in the respective municipalities, as well as SAAD-ZaNorte area-in-charge Area Coordinator (AC) Ms. Shelain Apolinario, Provincial Coordinator (PC) Mr. Ronillo Dusaban, and Technical Staff for Livestock, Ms. Jailyn Gamutan.

The Goat Dispersal Project is a component of the Cassava Production Project of Dampalan Farmers Association (FA) in Dapitan City, and the Sweet Corn Production Project of La Libertad Agricultural Producers Association in Municipality of La Libertad.

Its module is composed of five (5) does and a (1) buck for breeding. The offsprings shall eventually be dispersed to other members of the association. Monitoring on the dispersed goats shall be likewise conducted.
