SIQUIJOR, PHILIPPINES—The Department of Agriculture (DA) – Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program in the Province of Siquijor (Region VII) held its consultation workshop for the Proposed 2019 SAAD Projects in Helen, Larena, Siquijor on April 11, 2018.

SAAD was represented by its PPMSO and RPMSO staff led by the Regional Focal Person for DA-Regional Field Office (RFO) VII Engr. Eugene C. Cahiles, Jr. The other attendees were DA – Provincial Agricultural Technology Coordinating Office (PATCO) – Siquijor headed by Ms. Bernadith S. Bunado (ACC-II); Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (PAO) represented by its OIC – Provincial Agriculturist Ms. Lilibeth P. Caroro; Siquijor Municipal Agriculturist Ms. Chita M. Maglinte; MAO for Enrique Villanueva Ms. Ceceil G. Hora;  and their agricultural extension workers including those in the Provincial Veterinary Office.

Through reporting done per Area Coordinator (AC), the attendees were updated with the status of implementation of the SAAD Program in the Province of Siquijor for the projects under the 2018 budget, as well as consulted on the 2019 SAAD Projects to be implemented in Siquijor.

The team aims to continue the profiling and geotagging of the 2018 SAAD Program farmer-beneficiaries and conduct the remaining trainings as scheduled.
