MAGUINDANAO — The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program-Maguindanao team conducted their third distribution of interventions under its Integrated Sustainable Livelihood Assistance for Maguindanao (ISLAM) Project 2017. The (25) beneficiaries from barangay Lower D’lag, municipality of Pandag received five hundred fifty (550) mallard ducks, one hundred twenty-five (125) goats, and one hundred (100) bags of feeds last February 2, 2018.
An on-going distribution of interventions to eight (8) pioneer municipalities of Maguindanao through the SAAD-ISLAM Project 2017 is happening from January 31 until March 9, 2018. Recent distributions were held in Paglat and Buluan while the third and current municipality is Pandag.
Mr. Yusop B. Manalindo, the Municipal Agriculturist, gave a welcome message for the SAAD beneficiaries, stating that: “The SAAD Program is unique when it comes in choosing beneficiaries. Why? It is because they choose the poorest of the poor beneficiaries (beyond reach). We are thankful that out of 36 Municipalities in Maguindanao, we were chosen. This means, SAAD already knew we need it the most. We are blessed that the government projects reach us and SAAD is monitoring to see that this kind of projects is given to those who deserve it.”
In response, the farmer- beneficiaries said that: ” Our objective is one becomes more.” This means that it is the obligation of the farmers to grow the numbers of the mallard ducks and goats and increase productivity. ###
