MANILA, PHILIPPINES – A year after the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program has started; the National Program Management Office (NPMO) officially launches its new logo on April 24, 2017.
A logo is a symbol or emblem used by commercial enterprises, institutions, and organizations to promote public recognition.
The SAAD team in North Cotabato created the logo, which is a winning entry in the logo-making contest judged last April 19, 2017 during the program’s 1st Quarterly Assessment for 2017.

According to North Cotabato Provincial Coordinator Jerry Tingson, the elements of animals and crops seen in the logo symbolize the livelihood interventions given in the SAAD program.
Meanwhile, other SAAD teams who also submitted their entries are Eastern Samar, Zamboanga del Norte, and Maguindanao.
The logo above will be used as the accepted logo of the program until 2022.
The Special Area for Agricultural Development is a flagship program under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte and an idea by the Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol to lessen the poverty incidence of ten priority provinces each year until 2022.
The ten provinces for the program in 2017 are Apayao, Negros Oriental, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Western Samar, Zamboanga del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, North Cotabato, and Sarangani. ###
