The carabaos are under the program’s FY 2021 Carabao Dispersal Project worth Php 448,000. They will be used to prepare an estimated 350 hectares (1 hectare each farmer) of far-flung and mixed crop production areas.
Each group received one carabao, in which the members will take turns in taking care of.
In total, 350 farmers from Malapatan, Glan, Alabel, Malungon, Maasim, Kiamba, and Maitum will benefit from the project.
“Dako kaayu among pasalamat nga naa na mi gamiton sa panguma,” (We are very thankful that we now have this carabao to help in our farm.) said Mercilta Landayao, Banlas Farmers Association president, during the turnover ceremony in Glan on October 15.
