42 members of KSFA will benefit from SAAD Mobile Corn Mill

MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, May 27, 2021 – Forty-two (42) members of Kanao-kanao Small Farmers Association (KSFA) received a unit of Mobile Corn Mill from SAAD Program FY 2020 at Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental on May 27, 2021.

The Php 400,000 worth of machinery is in support of their Corn Production Project in 2019 where 15 bags of OPV corn seeds worth Php 15,000 were distributed in barangay Kanao-kanao.

Municipal Agriculturist Rovil Rodrigo reminded the beneficiaries of their duties and responsibilities as recipients of the said machinery.

“This machinery is given to you because aside from you being identified as our SAAD beneficiaries, you are also an active association that works together and that is one of the characteristics we want to see in a group. And having been given this machinery, you all have responsibilities and duties in maintaining this and making sure this will serve you for a long time.”

The said mobile corn mill is for the processing for both yellow and white corn into corn grits, different sizes of corn granules, corn flour and other corn products.

It will ease the farmer’s work from the traditional corn mills that use emery stone, two steel rollers, and oscillating sifters that all require a huge amount of power and time.

The beneficiaries of Bonifacio also expect to receive the 336 free-range chickens under SAAD FY 2020 this June once the lockdown restriction eased up in the province due to the rising cases of CoViD-19. ###
