May 19, 2017 | Team Zamboanga Del Norte formally launches the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program’s P2m corn and coffee production projects at Barangay Sebod, Roxas in the said province, where 150 farmer-beneficiaries attended the orientation conducted by Roxas Area Coordinator Cecille La Plana and SAAD ZANORTER Administrative Assistant Carlo Glenn Palacat.
About 90% of the beneficiaries are members of the Subanen Indigenous People tribe of Zamboanga del Norte. The projects will cover a total area of 14 hectares for coffee farm and 75 hectares for corn production, including three communal coffee seedling nurseries in Barangay Sebod. Other components of the project are two units of corn shellers.
Barangay Sebod is about 15km away from Roxas town proper, which is accessible only by motorcycle.
