DA 12 RED Casis to NoCot farmers: plant for readily available food

NORTH COTABATO – “Magtanim para hindi na kayo bibili, nandiyan na ang healthy food sa paligid. Every time gusto mong magluto, mayroon kang lulutuin at mayroon kang ibebenta.”

The Department of Agriculture (DA) 12 Regional Executive Director Milagros Casis reminded North Cotabato (NoCot) farmers to plant after receiving agri-livelihood inputs from the Special Area of Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program.

The DA-SAAD provided inputs for corn and vegetable production projects to 163 North Cotabato farmers from three municipalities.

Forty (40) farmers from Barangay Balindog, Kidapawan City received hybrid corn seeds, fertilizers, vegetable seeds, and garden tools on October 8, 2019.

Meanwhile, 83 farmers from Barangay Arizona, Midsayap got corn seeds, fertilizers, knapsack sprayers, vegetable seeds, and garden tools on October 3, 2019.

On the same day, the SAAD Program also provided the same corn and vegetable production inputs to 40 farmers of Barangay Sinapangan, Libungan.

Aside from DA 12 RED Casis, SAAD national, regional, and provincial staff as well as provincial, municipal, and barangay local government office representatives were present at the distribution ceremonies.

As SAAD fulfilled its promises, DA 12 RED Casis asked the farmers to realize and sustain the livelihood projects given to them. ###
