Magpet farmers’ associations receive 80 native pigs

MAGPET, NORTH COTABATO – Six farmers’ associations and 10 individuals from the municipality received 80 native pigs from the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program on February 11, 2019 at the Balindog Research Experiment Station in Kidapawan City.

The farmer-partners are from barangays Sallab, Ilian, Poblacion, Bongolanon, Tempuran, Imamaling, and Owas.

The animals given are under the Native Pig Production Project of the SAAD Program in the province.

SAAD Provincial Coordinator Jerry Tingson and Area Coordinator Anisa Allyn Saaduddin led the livestock distribution.

Office of the Municipal Agriculturist Office of Magpet, represented by the High Value Crops Coordinator (HVCDP) Jasper Lallen, and Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) representative Leslie Diazon were also present at the event.

Diazon discussed the requirements for the insurance of the farmers’ livestock.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and acknowledged the efforts and support of DA Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol and Regional Executive Director Engr. Milagros C. Casis. In return, they promised to take care of the project they received. ###
