To evaluate its accomplishments and performance in the first half of the year, the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program SOCCSKSARGEN convened its Physical and Financial Performance Review for the First Semester of 2025, last July 24-25, 2025.

Held at Koronadal City, South Cotabato, the two-day assessment activity served as a venue for strategic planning as the Program enters the second semester of implementation this year..

Gracing the semestral assessment was Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer (APCO) for Sarangani and General Santos City Ms. Jocelyn S. Misterio, who underscored the value of the review in driving continuous improvement.

“We are here to acknowledge the good work we’ve done and also to identify the areas where we can still improve in delivering services to our farmers. Setting clear timelines and deadlines is crucial; it creates a sense of urgency in our operations. The APCOs are here to support and guide you on the ground,”  said Misterio.

The activity commenced with each regional unit presenting their respective physical and financial performance reports, highlighting accomplishments and addressing implementation challenges encountered during the first semester.

Participants included the Regional Program Management Support Office (RPMSO) composed of personnel from various units, which include Social Preparation and Program Management (SPPM), Food Production and Livelihood (FPL), Marketing Assistance and Enterprise Development (MAED), Information Technology and Database Development (ITDD), Public Relations and Development Communication (PRDC), and the Admin and Procurement unit.

Joining them were staff from the Provincial Program Management Support Offices (PPMSOs) and all Area Coordinators (ACs) representing the provinces of South Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and Cotabato. These teams provided updates on the progress of various livelihood projects, social preparation activities, and enterprise development initiatives within their respective provinces.

Also present during the review were APCOs who provided insights and support in assessing the program’s performance at the provincial level. Their presence further emphasized the importance of synergy between regional and provincial operations in achieving the Program’s goals.

As the SAAD Program moves forward, the insights and lessons drawn from this review will serve as a compass for recalibrating strategies and strengthening implementation.

With renewed commitment and strengthened collaboration among each unit, the Program remains hopeful that the remaining six months of 2025 will not only sustain but surpass the gains made in the first half of the year.  ###
