Amid the threat of a typhoon and unfavorable weather conditions, the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program remained steadfast in its commitment to support local farmers, successfully delivering a 690 bags of fertilizers to five farmers’ associations in Nampicuan, Nueva Ecija and Anao, Tarlac last July 21, 2025.
The fertilizer distribution continued as planned, with SAAD officers working through the rain and difficult road conditions to deliver the inputs on time for the farmers’ corn planting season. The team delivered the agricultural inputs to ensure smooth turnover.
A total of 690 bags of fertilizers, composed of Urea and Muriate of Potash (MOP) were distributed. In Nampicuan, Nueva Ecija, Cabawangan Corn Farmers Association received 160 bags of Urea and 40 bags of MOP. In Anao, Tarlac, the Casili Anao Corn Grower Association, Campos-West Corn Production Farmers Association, and Rizal Livelihood Farmers Association received 160 bags of Urea each while the Pagdanggayan Ti Mannalon Bantog Farmers Association received 10 bags.
This intervention is in line with the Program’s goal to increase agricultural productivity and uplift the livelihood of marginalized farmers. Association members expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, especially as they prepare for the next planting season.
“Nakatutuwa na kahit umuulan, makikita mo ‘yong eagerness nila na makuha ‘yong kanilang mga pataba. Kaya naman mas nakakagana rin magtrabaho dahil makikita mo talaga yong partisipasyon nila sa programa,” said Nampicuan Area Coordinator Roselyn Bumanlag.
(It’s heartening to see that even in the rain, their eagerness to receive the fertilizers was evident. That kind of participation really motivates us to work harder, knowing they are actively engaged in the program.)
With sustained support like this, SAAD Central Luzon continues to help farmer-beneficiaries improve their harvests and income. Similar fertilizer had also been delivered in the same month in Ramos, Tarlac as part of its continuing interventions. ###
