In support of the week-long celebration of the 128th anniversary of the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Malueg Food Producers and Farmers Association (MFPFA) actively participated in the KADIWA ng Pangulo market, supervised by the DA-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) at the DA Regional Field Office – Cagayan Valley last June 22, 2026.
In just a day, the MFPFA generated a total income of Php 11,507.80 from their fresh produce and processed products. They sold 100.82 kilograms of bananas for Php 3,704.80, while earning Php 1,303.00 from 40.52 kilograms of eggplants. Moreover, 65 packs of banana chips were sold, amounting to Php 6,500.00.
Staff from SAAD Cagayan Valley assisted the association by labeling the banana chips and helping sell their local products.
Aside from the KADIWA ng Pangulo initiative, the MFPFA was also given the opportunity to sell their products every Monday. This was made possible through the coordination of SAAD staff Lilibeth Catap with DA-AMAD.
Just recently, the association sold eggplant, kangkong, oyster mushrooms, bananas, green chilies, banana chips, fruit vinegar, and peanuts at the DA gymnasium, where the FCA earned Php 8,650.00 last June 8.
On behalf of the MFPFA, Association President Lilibeth Gonzales expressed her deep gratitude for the continuous assistance and support provided by SAAD and AMAD.
“Maraming salamat po sa walang sawa na pagsuporta sa association namin. Nawa sa tulong ng SAAD sa grupo namin, we always pray na we can do it big. We started from nothing and now we can have big sales. We are always thankful sa SAAD at AMAD sa pag-invite sa amin to join KADIWA,” Gonzales expressed.
(Thank you so much for your unwavering support for our association. Through SAAD’s help, we always pray that we can achieve even greater things. We started from nothing, and now we are generating substantial sales. We are deeply grateful to SAAD and AMAD for inviting us to participate in KADIWA.)
She also shared how the KADIWA ng Pangulo has significantly helped their association, encouraging other local farmers to take part in the program as well.
“Nakabenta po kami ng fresh banana at banana chips directly sa consumer. Naubos po yung gulay including talong kasi nakita ng tao yung quality. Mas malaki na kita namin kasi direct na benta, walang middleman. Hindi lang po benta yung binigay ng KADIWA, binigyan din po kami ng pag-asa at market para sa aming high value crops. Sa mga kapwa ko magsasaka, sumali po kayo sa KADIWA. Sulit po talaga,” she added.
(We were able to sell fresh bananas and banana chips directly to consumers. All of our vegetables, including eggplants, were completely sold out because people saw the excellent quality. Our income is much larger now because these are direct sales with no middlemen involved. KADIWA did not just give us a venue to sell; it also gave us hope and a reliable market for our high-value crops. To my fellow farmers, please join KADIWA. It is truly worth it.)
The KADIWA ng Pangulo has been a major boost for SAAD-assisted FCAs like the MFPFA. It directly supports SAAD’s goal of promoting easier, direct market access between local farmers and buyers. ###
