Eastern Samar
Eastern Samar is a province located in the Eastern Visayas region, occupying the eastern part of Samar Island and facing the vast Philippine Sea. Its capital is Borongan City. The province is characterized by its long, irregular coastline, mountainous interior, and numerous rivers. It experiences a Type II climate, with no dry season and a very pronounced maximum rain period, especially in December and January. Primarily an agricultural province, its economy relies heavily on farming and fishing.
