Five farmer associations (FAs) in Misamis Occidental received Php 1,243,600 worth of complete fertilizers and essential garden tools from the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agriculture Development (DA-SAAD) Northern Mindanao last August 2026.

The distribution supports the associations’ High-Value Crops (HVC) Production Projects and intends to provide them with the necessary inputs and tools to sustain their farming activities.

The beneficiary associations from five municipalities are the Salimpuno SAAD sa Mag-uuma (SASAMA) in Sapang Dalaga, Maligubaan Farmers’ Association (MFA) in Concepcion, Punta Sulong SAAD Phase 2 Farmers’ Association (PSSPFA) in Baliangao, San Isidro Bajo SAAD Beneficiaries Association (SIBSBA) in Sinacaban, and Gandawan Strawberry Growers’ Association (GSGA) in Don Victoriano Chiongbian.

SASAMA, MFA, and PSSPFA are beneficiaries of the Program’s Integrated Poultry and HVC Production Project; SIBSBA received the Integrated Corn and HVC Production Project; while GSGA is a beneficiary of the Enhanced HVC Production Project.

The Php 1,243,600 worth of interventions delivered consists of complete fertilizers, plastic containers, plastic drums, seedling trays, sacks, rakes, slashing bolos, garden hose, chicken nets, A-nets, plastic UV films, plastic mulch, trapal, and egg weighing scales.

These agri-inputs are expected to improve the efficiency of the FAs’ farming activities and improve crop health and yields.

Through the provision of these inputs, the SAAD Program continues to empower local farmers by providing essential resources, fostering sustainable agricultural development, and contributing to the economic resilience of Misamis Occidental’s farming communities. ###
