Six farmers’ associations (FAs) in the province received Php 527,100 worth of product processing tools from the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD), elevating their value-adding projects.
From May 25-29, 2026, SAAD Northern Mindanao delivered product processing tools, such as rolls of aluminum foil, egg tart molders, gloves, hair nets, knives, polyester aprons, leche flan molders, mixing bowls, stainless trays, storage boxes, vacuum sealer bags, wrapping films, ziplock bags, and ziplock stand-up pouches.
These interventions are expected to improve the efficiency of the FAs’ value-adding activities and enhance their capacity to meet market demands.
The recipient associations were:
- San Isidro Bajo SAAD Beneficiaries Association from Barangay San Isidro Bajo, Sinacaban town
- San Roque SAAD Farmers Association from Barangay San Roque, Panaon town
- Punta Sulong SAAD Phase 2 Farmers’ Association from Barangay Punta Sulong, Baliangao town
- Maligubaan Farmers’ Association from Barangay Maligubaan, Concepcion town
- Salumpino SAAD sa Mag-Uuma Association (SASAMA) from Barangay Salimpuno, Sapang Dalaga; and
- Gandawan Strawberry Growers Association from Barangay Gandawan, Don Victoriano Chiogbian town
“Malaki ang pasasalamat namin sa SAAD Program Phase 2. Dahil sa mga kagamitan na ito, mapapadali ang pag-process ng aming mga produkto,” SASAMA President Jupiter Suarez said.

The SAAD Program’s strategic interventions not only provide immediate benefits but also lay the foundation for long-term livelihood development. By equipping its farmer-beneficiaries with the right tools and inputs, the Program aims to foster more productive, sustainable, and profitable agri-preneurs in Misamis Occidental. ###
