To further strengthen and capacitate farmers through a comprehensive focus group discussion (FGD), the Department of Agriculture-Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) conducted a Food Production and Livelihood (FPL) rollout in Nampicuan, Nueva Ecija last May 6, 2026.

The Maeling Poultry Farmers Association participated in the said FGD, with a total of 19 active members attending the activity, composed of three (3) females and sixteen (16) males.

Under the SAAD Program Phase 2, the Food Production and Livelihood (FPL) component focuses on providing agriculture-based livelihood projects tailored to the needs of beneficiaries identified during the Social Preparation (SP) process. It also serves as the foundation of the Marketing Assistance and Enterprise Development (MAED) component as part of the program’s overall agribusiness development framework.

The activity strengthened crop and livestock production in Central Luzon and identified appropriate solutions through modern technologies to address the challenges encountered by farmer-beneficiaries.

In addition, the rollout served as a technical evaluation of ongoing projects to ensure the proper and effective implementation of the program.

Representatives from the National Program Management Office (NPMO) who attended the activity included Meljun A. Florence, FPL Sub-unit Lead; Ricky L. Motita, NPMO Focal; and Arjay L. Polistico, OPBME Staff. Meanwhile, Area Coordinators Roselyn S. Bumanlag and Leonard C. Suarez Jr. facilitated the conduct of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD).

“Sa loob ng mahigit tatlong taon, naging saksi kayo sa pagpapatupad ng programang SAAD mula sa mga intervention para sa RTL hanggang sa pagpapalakas ng organisasyon katuwang kayo sa pagpapaunlad ng kabuhayan.
