SAAD Western Visayas workforce gather to review progress, target completion

The Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program conducted a meeting among its implementers to solicit information and discuss the progress of each implementing unit in terms of target completion, July 28.

The meeting, conducted regularly every month, is essential for the improvement of implementation and growth of the program. By tackling each report and the issues and concerns raised during the meeting can aid in measuring the performance, identify the strengths and weaknesses in employed strategies, and the impact or current progress of the projects provided to its beneficiaries.

Ms. Charmae F. Antiapatia, SAAD Alternate Assistant Focal Person, presided over the discussion and commenced by laying the meeting agenda. She likewise re-echoed the directives from Management Committee Meeting which include, but not limited to, the visit of DA Regional Executive Director to production sites, completion of production data per farmer association (FA), and strict observance of Anti-Red Tape Act, among others.

Following this, a recapitulation of agreements from the previous meeting was reviewed. Each unit then pursued reporting and tackled the accomplished targets and remaining deliverables.

For the Administrative and Procurement unit, they were urged to expedite the processing of documents, likewise, they discussed the status of procurement under current and continuing funds. 

The status of Participatory Rural Appraisal reports under the Social Preparation unit was also tackled, of which, the packaging of the report was delegated to the Public Relations and Development Communication unit.

Area Coordinators were also reminded of the submission of an updated list of members per FA which will serve as the basis of the IT and Database unit in their conduct and completion of profiling activities. Updates on the Food Production and Livelihood unit also presented the production data from each FA and was advised to adjust the monitoring template applicable to the dynamics of the region.

The meeting employed feedbacking sessions from all concerned units deemed important to remind the implementers of their target and ensure the compliance of necessary documents required for the implementation to move forward such as the written reports, liquidation requirements, procurement attachments, and documentation, among others.
