San Antonio Farmers Association (SAFA), a proud beneficiary of the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program in Central Visayas, took part in the R’Cebu: Bahandi sa Segundo ug Sixto Distrito event held in Cebu City from May 16 to 18, 2024.

R’Cebu is a two-day fair that highlights local products from across the province of Cebu. Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, this initiative continues to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing a platform where local entrepreneurs can showcase their products and services, helping promote Cebu’s rich local offerings.

SAFA proudly presented their high-quality agricultural products, including 100% pure Citronella Essential Oil and Mana Cinnamon Quill, which are harvested from their cinnamon plants. With the support of tourism officers from the Boljoon Local Government Unit, SAFA expressed gratitude for the opportunity to exhibit their diverse agri-products and to promote their association to the wider Cebuano community.

Through events like R’Cebu, SAFA continues to strengthen its presence in the province, helping boost the livelihood of its members and the local economy.

“Initiative ni siya sa amo LGU to help SAFA and other associations in Boljoon sa ila agricultural products pinaagi sa pagpangita og buyers para sa association aron matabangan sila sa ilang mga produces including na pud sa ila vegetable produce sa association. The LGU is open, maminaw ug andam motabang kanila kay quote ni sa amoa Mayor kay “Support Local,” said Mr. Gilbert Babor, Tourism Officer Designate of LGU Boljoon.

(This is an initiative of the LGU to help SAFA and other associations in Boljoon with their agricultural products through giving assistance in marketing these products to buyers including their vegetable produce. The LGU is open to listen and to help them since the Mayor believes in supporting our local products.)

San Antonio Farmers Association (SAFA), a beneficiary of the DA-SAAD Program’s vegetable production, marketing, and enterprise project in Barangay San Antonio, Boljoon, Cebu since 2023, continues to produce sustainable agricultural products. Their goal is to help improve food security and supply not only in the province but throughout the entire Region 7.
