To help more farmers manage and organize their earnings effectively, the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Cagayan Valley capacitated three Farmers Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) from Isabela on Understanding Financial Statements and Bookkeeping for Non-Accountants last August 13-14, 2026.
A total of 50 farmer-members from Capayacan Ramos West Farmers Association (CRAWEFA), Patanad Self-Help Group Farmers Association (PSHGFA), and Dur-as Farmers Association (DFA) participated in the training.
From this training, the members learned the proper recording and management of their income for the smoother operation of their association.
On behalf of CRAWEFA, Vice President Rolly Balocon shared his learnings from the training.
“Natutunan ko po kung paano magbalance. Malaki po ang naitulong sa amin kasi nalaman namin kung paano maitala o maisaayos ang aming kita,” he stated.
(I learned how to balance. It has been a huge help to us because we learned how to record or organize our earnings.)
Furthermore, Ms. Violy Corpuz, President of PSHGFA, thanked the program and shared how SAAD helps them improve and sustain their livelihood.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa seminar na ito. Natuto akong magkwenta at nalaman ko rin ang ibig sabihin ng assets, liability, at equity. Masaya ako bilang isang miyembro. In SAAD, they are cheerful, kind, and great at getting along with others, and so many things were provided for our needs in this association, which made our lives easier. Thank you very much, SAAD. It is a big help to our livelihood, and I hope the association will be successful. Thank you very much.)
Through the cooperation and willingness of the members, the training was a success, helping FCAs achieve more organized record-keeping of their earnings. ###
