SAAD Apayao conducts mass distribution of 33 compact tillers

Apayao —   The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) – Apayao conducted a mass distribution of 33 Compact Tillers with a total worth of 1.65 million pesos for the 7 Municipalities of Apayao on April 3, 2019.

The tillers were distributed to the municipalities of Flora, Sta. Marcela, Luna, Pudtol, Conner, Calanasan, and Kabugao. The selection of beneficiaries considered who are vegetable growers, the feasibility of the areas for vegetable production, and the poverty incidence of each municipality.

Meanwhile, the Municipalities of  Flora; Sta. Marcela; Luna; Pudtol; Conner; and Kabugao, distributed the compact tillers to 14 farmer associations. These are MAST farmers Association with 4 units; BISS  with 2 units; PACOMARNUSAN with 2 units; MARAG VALLEY with 2 units; MIDSTREAM LIVELIHOOD with 2 units; ECASAN with 1 unit; LT. MACAU with 1 unit; MULA DUR-AS with 1 unit; PIAS with 1 unit; CALAOAN with 3 units; NABUANGAN with 1 unit; BAREN with 1 unit; Blessed SAAD Farmers Association with 2 units; and Productive SAAD Farmers Association with 3 units.

Lastly, the 6  units of compact tillers that the Municipality of Calanasan received were distributed to barangays Butao, Tubungan, Namaltugan, Kabugawan, and Ninoy Aquino.

These tillers were distributed to help reduce production cost and increase the income of the farmers. ###
