Negros Oriental farmers receive livestock under DA-SAAD’s Goat Production Project

NEGROS ORIENTAL—The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) held a mass goat distribution held at Brgy. San Jose in the Municipality of La Libertad, Negros Oriental on 10 October 2018.

Aiming to increase the farmers’ livelihood income, the activity is facilitated by SAAD Negros Oriental Provincial Coordinator (PC) Mr. Jaypee S. Soldivillo, Area Coordinator (AC) Engr. Maria Angelina Cubalan, AC Ms. Marcelina Cabonelas, AC Mr. Jesanro Amarante, AC Mr. Ryan Maribojoc, Information Technologist (IT) Mr. Karl Cabonelas, and IT Mr. Francis Ray Ozoa. There are fifteen (15) individual beneficiaries that received seventy-five (75) heads of goat (with each beneficiary receiving 1 buck amounting to Php 6,000.00 each, and 4 does also amounting to Php 6,000.00 each) with a total cost of Php 450,000.00.

La Libertad Local Government Unit (LGU) staff supports the event with Hon. Mayor Emmanuel Iway and OIC-Municipal Agricultural Officer Mr. Marcelo Bulingot attending the distribution.

The ACs will monitor the intervention given, as the feeds are for delivery. Meanwhile, the goat shed materials are still in the bidding process. ###
