SAAD distributes P1.2M farm inputs in Carmen, North Cotabato

NORTH COTABATO — A total of P1.2M farm inputs was distributed by the DA’s Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD)-North Cotabato to 150 farmer-beneficiaries of Malapag, Carmen, North Cotabato last May 9, 2018.

Marvin Segovia, SAAD-National Program Management Office (NPMO)’s Coordinator, gave an encouraging message to the four farmer associations and provided details on the SAAD program that will help them boost the production volume with the full support of the government through the Duterte administration.  

Jerry Tingson, DA-SAAD Provincial Coordinator, mentioned that the farm inputs worth P1.2M is composed of different varieties of vegetable seeds, fertilizers, garden tools and livestock.  The project will serve as pilot demonstration of the DA’s new thrust for massive organic vegetable production with goat multiplier farm.

During the event, Ma. Lourdes Salac, Agriculturist Technician, gave a presentation for the farmers and barangay officials about basic information and accessibility of all agricultural programs of the current administration.

Mary Grace Panzo, Barangay Malapag chairperson, expressed her gratitude to the SAAD on behalf of her constituents. She stated: “We are very happy and lucky that, out of 28 barangays in Carmen, Malapag has been chosen as the beneficiary of the DA SAAD project. We hope that this is not just the beginning, but still will this go further and help boost not only the farming industry but the farmers’ lives as well,”

The farmer-beneficiaries expressed their appreciation on the interventions they received from DA-SAAD and to DA Region 12 Executive Director Milagros Casis and Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol.
