Seventy-five (75) goats benefit DA-SAAD Farmers in Negros Oriental

NEGROS ORIENTAL—A mass distribution of livestock under the Goat Production Project of the Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program is held in the municipality of Santa Catalina on 26 October 2018.

The activity, which aims to increase the farmers’ livelihood income, is facilitated by SAAD Negros Oriental Area Coordinators (ACs) Mr. Andro Shalom Ramirez, and Mr. Jesanro Amarante together with Provincial Agriculture Technology Coordinating Office (PATCO) livestock inspector Mr. Andro Vendiola and Santa Catalina Local Government Unit (LGU) staff headed by Municipal Agricultural Officer (MAO) Ms. Rizalina Muñez.

A total of fifteen (15) individual beneficiaries received seventy-five (75) heads of goat amounting to Php 450,000.00. Each beneficiary received one (1) buck and four (4) does.
The ACs will be monitoring the intervention given. ###
